My Story
I love to continually learn.
As part of recovery from a traumatic accident, I became increasingly fascinated with anatomy movement and healing for over 20 years. I’ve been teaching group fitness classes, and became a certified personal trainer. I have been teaching group yoga classes and Pilates since 2001. In 2005 I started practicing Thai yoga massage learning about trigger points and taught tissue fibers in the muscles and in the fascia .

Recently I’ve been studying advanced, neuro Pilates with Meghann Koppele Duffy, where I have learned to help people move involving the nervous sensory system to reduce gripping patterns and direct energy in the body more efficiently.
My teacher, Chuck Duff just published a book called "Ending Pain" in 2022. I have been reviewing his material since 2005, but have recently had the opportunity to take his trainings in person. I have delighted in learning the body along side him and following his evolution of understanding closely with my own. Chuck uses neurological understanding in his practice of mitigating pain as well. I also took a course called "Explain Pain" through an international group called "noi" dedicated to helping people understand and deal with pain based on the work of Dr. David Butler and G. Lorimer Moseley.
I have been studying movement patterns with Madeline Black since 2020, and Completed two courses with Scolio Pilates with Karena Thek just before the shut down for Covid. In 2021 I studied Pilates for neurological conditions with Mariska Breeland.
For my leisure time I like to choreograph dance, hike, paddle board, and read mysteries. I love to spend time with my family, travel, and eat wonderful food.
My Philosophy
Feeling good in your body is the highest place you can get in life because it helps determine your mental and emotional outlook. Main stream fitness more often causes pain and poor movement patterns in the body rather than facilitating better overall health. Strong body awareness, and body connection can help you heal and adapt to any situation, either physically (like mountain hiking or extreme sports), or mental/emotional situations where you are under intense stress.
